Owen Denvir – Lonely
Thursday 22nd Oct, 2015
He says: “The song came out of the blue after an old friend popped into my head - someone I was once very close to. People tend to put up a front that their lives are the envy of society - only ever sharing their highlights - so I wanted to write something that was the total opposite. It's the sound of extending an olive branch. We all need support sometimes and I want to make it clear to any of my friends (old or new) that if they ever needed me, for whatever reason, they only have to ask.
Lonely - like the rest of my EP - was partly recorded while I was living in Edinburgh, then finished with Andrew Dougherty in Sonic Visuals studio. I played every instrument on this track except for double bass, which came from Thomas Alford."
We say: “Sounding like an experienced storyteller, rugged and world weary - Owen is surely a bearded, whiskey soaked troubadour, right? Surely not a young man, merely getting started…”
