Race the Flux - Big Fig

Race the Flux is a Galway 4-piece due to release their second EP 'Olympians' in May 2015.

They Say: "Big Fig actually came to life because of the opening track to the EP - Minus Teeth. It took us a very long time before we were happy with Minus Teeth. It was originally over 6 minutes long. We used to call it "the unwritable song" as it went through so many different stages and renditions that we just weren't satisfied with. One day, while tackling "The unwritable song" again, we took a break. I think it was Joe that was messing around with the track, and came up some interesting rhythms and progressions. It didn't work very well for what would become Minus Teeth, so we took it, worked on it and evolved it into what became Big Fig!"

We Say: “It's rhythmically wonky, a wee bit arty and pretty adventurous. Yet colourful and fun at the same time. So yes - there's a lot going on - but it all makes a lot of sense.....”
