More Than Conquerors Farewell Show
More Than Conquerors are saying farewell at their last gig in the Mandela Hall on 2nd October 2015. As well as posting a video ‘2009-2015’ on their Facebook page, they said:
“In March 2015, we toured the UK. It broke us in a way that deserves no explanation. We came home for 1 week and then left for our first trip to America. The feelings and appreciation we received cannot be explained and nor shall we try but it filled our souls with fire again. It was a heat that we realised was always there and always would be there. With this realisation, we decided that this band had reached a point that shouldn’t be tampered with. We have been brothers for 6 years and we fulfilled our aim. We played loud music and wrote songs we believed in.
If you were there to hear it, see it or feel it, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts. You’re the reason we were able to do it for as long as we did. If you weren’t there to hear it, see it or feel it…what a shame! Ask the people that were, they’ll tell you how rad it was.
We love you more than you’ll know.
We were, we are and always will be sincerely yours,
More Than Conquerors xo”
The alternative-punk-rock quartet first formed back in 2009 when vocalist Kris Platt united with Danny Ball on guitar, Danny Morton on bass, and Jamie Neish on drums. Signed to Smalltown America in early 2010, they released 2 EPs and their debut album "Everything I've Learnt”, which gained them Radio 1 and 6Music airplay, as well as support slots for The 1975, Jimmy Eat World, Twin Atlantic and Feeder. Moreover their last single ‘Red’ on their own label Oil Tape Records, saw the band go from strength to strength.
Girls Names Album
Girls Names will release their new album ‘Arms Around A Vision’ on 2nd October with a launch show at The Empire on the same night, with support from Documenta.
