MusED 2015 is a free conference which aims to bring together those working within music education, the music sector and those developing the music industry within Northern Ireland.
Julian Lloyd-Webber will discuss how to use music to engage young people and Peter Wilson AKA Duke Special will give a talk on fostering creativity, plus there’ll be representatives from Chambre PR & PRS. The conference will run in the Nerve Centre, Derry/Londonderry on Thursday 26th March from 10am – 4pm and is supported by the Department of Culture, Arts & Leisure & Generator NI. There is still time to register, but spaces are limited.
AVA (Audio Visual Arts) Festival
DJ Nu-Mark of Jurassic 5 and Adam Smith, long-term AV collaborator with The Chemical Brothers, will be taking part in the Q & A sessions, at the free daytime AVA conference on Saturday 30th May from 11am-4pm. Joining the headline talents include industry panellists Ashley Howard of Hospital Records, Terry Weerasinghe of Beatport, Mark Lawrence - the CEO of The Association of Electronic Music, Paul Hamill from Pyscatron and Mark Gordon of Generator NI, Bicep and Shine Productions.
AVA (Audio Visual Arts) is a daytime conference & evening showcase running at T13 in the Titanic Quarter, which aims to celebrates the electronic music and digital visual arts that has emerged from Northern Ireland. Headlines confirmed for the evening showcase, are the Belfast DJ/Producing duo Bicep, DJ duo Optimo, Phil Kieran, Ejeca, Space Dimension Controller. There’ll be sets from Schmutz, Swoose & Cromby, Extended Play, Twitch and Visuals from GUERILLA SHOUT.
In addition, Extended Play are running a competition to find the next emerging electronic music producer. The winning submission will form the lead track on the label's next Extended Players release, feature on ‘Feel My Bicep’s Blog’ and receive development support. Submit your track via email to [email protected] add in the subject: ‘AVA Emerging Artist Track – Your Name’ by 30th April 2015. The top 6 tracks will be selected and a panel will feedback during the AVA conference.
