Steven Rainey from Radio Ulster's Arts Extra and Rigsy chat about some of their favourite new tracks of the past few weeks.

Sister Ghost – Scent

Steven: "With this you can hear echoes of Sonic Youth, early nineties discord stuff... It’s just classic indie rock with no mucking about."

Jackson Besley - Blue Eyes

Steven: "It’s got a very classic kind of sound, its very textured, very well arranged."

Simi Crowns – Pressure

Rigsy: "This is kind of Eminem featuring Rihanna territory… Poppy poppy Hip-Hop... I wanna see the video with a helicopter flying over a swimming pool"

Slomatics - Futurian

Steven: "Its one of the heaviest slabs of molten metal ever created."

Apache Gunship- After

Steven: "I actually hear a bit of fairly recent Iron Maiden in their music."

Hexxed – Palindrome

Steven: "It’s the most confident they’ve sounded in years, you can tell that they’re completely revitalised by it."

Boxcutter – Holoscene

Steven: He’s gone through so many stylistic evolutions. This is him doing what he does best."

The Geneva Experiment – Collision

Rigsy: "The North coast bringing the noise again... They only played their first gig ever last month so totally box fresh."
