This week, Charlene Hegarty joined Rigsy and Stu in the ATL studio to talk new music...

Hozier - Jackie & Wilson

Charlene: “What a great track. It’s the next single off the album, so we’re just wondering what’s coming on album two and when that’ll arrive.”

Galants – This Is Heaven

Charlene: “It stood out for me…just scuzzy, melodic pop… a big yes from me.”

JBR Project – I Hate To Tell You

Stu: “Reminds me a little bit of two tone…like The Specials and bands like that. Trumpets and the old melodica gets you thinking of people like Augustus Pablo, but I think they like a bit of big beat as well.”

Princess – Neverlook

Charlene: “I just think it’s brilliant; I’ve put it on almost every playlist I’ve put together in the last year. Sadly they’ve decided to call it a day, so you’ve got one last chance to see them this Saturday as part of Longitude Festival.”

No Oil Paintings – Exodus

Charlene: “I think the essence of this band is best realised live…they lift the roof on any bar that they’re put in. They launched their EP in Belfast Barge a few weeks ago.”

Junk Drawer – Buying Pictures (For The Frame)

Rigsy: “A two track EP is all we have from them so far…kind of ‘90’s indie vibes.”

Sissy – Give Birth To A Mum

Charlene: “What a great track. They are a three piece punk band based in Dublin, and I’ve been a fan of this band since their EP was released last year. In essence, Sissy have something to say and they’ve found their own unique way of saying it.”

Diamondtronic – Traffic Lights

Rigsy: “We’ve featured them before, but this is just a total different direction. We can only congratulate them on such a beautiful, elaborate and intricate piece of music.”
