That New Band Smell
Across The Line

Carrie Davenport stopped by to share some new music with us.

What a day it has been - not only is it Monday but one minute the sun is splitting the trees, teasing us with summer, the next you're running to get out of the hailstones. Best to just stay in and listen to the great batch of new bands we've picked for you this week rather than risk being caught without a brolly.
If you like the slightly crazed energy of bands like Fight Like Apes and Death from Above 1979 you'll be sure to enjoy the musical musings of Kid Karate. For only two fellas from Dublin they make a hell of a lot of noise and having recently played SXSW they are set for a big year in 2013 with debut album just recorded and set for release soon
Formed in late 2010 and joined by final members Aidan and Shane in 2011, these guys combine powerful lyrics and thrashing riffs to great effect. Based in Dublin they have recently released debut album "Buried in The Undergrowth" which you can download now.
Epic slabs of delightfully blues tinged stoner rock which alas we couldn't play in full on the radio but you can check out here. After several lineup changes the three piece have now settled and last year saw them sign to italian indie label Moonlight Records. Their music is heavily reminiscent of 70s rock and bands like Kyuss and Monster Magnet. Turn it up loud and enjoy.
