Sister Ghost– Growing Pains

Friday 6th November 2015

They Say:“This song is probably the most literal Sister Ghost song so far, in that the title is fairly explanatory of the lyrics - it's my idea of the hazy thought processes of childhood and the sometimes overwhelming newness of adulthood. In terms of the music; the breakdown with the samples is my homage to the intro of 'Waking the Witch' by Kate Bush, the heavily chorused guitars are hints towards one of my favourite 'sounding' bands Lush and the arpeggio guitar lines are a hat-tip to Johnny Marr of The Smiths. I'm particularly fond of this track and it's a fun one to play live!”

We Say: "With every release they’re growing in confidence, each aspect of the song becoming that little bit stronger. Shannon is hugely assured at this point and the souped up production allows her voice - and her guitars - to soar”.

‘Growing Pains’ is from Scratch My Progress Vol.4 which features Sister Ghost alongside Plague Artists, Owen Denvir and Treehome. The CD launches on Thursday 12th November with a gig in the Oh Yeah Centre, Belfast
