Shadow Police - Dead Dance
Monday 1st May, 2017
They say: "This is a track with melancholic tones but tries to keep a positive outlook on the struggles of everyday life. It was a bit of a release to write this track. For us, our first release 'Sleep Tonight' was a bit of a breakthrough where we really set our sound. We tried to recreate that with this track, but the vibe of this song became a lot darker, and we ended up writing something a lot more personal. It has our own sound throughout, with touches of influence from M83, Com Truise, Chvrches and Tycho."
We say: "You can tell (and see - they look the part) that great fun was had making this - a properly authentic slice of '80s-tinged goth-electro. Big synths, echo-y drums, squelchy bass and a Frankie Knuckles-esque refrain, all present and correct."
Shadow Police are Belfast duo Matthew Duly and Daniel Thornton, and 'Dead Dance' is their latest release, available now.
