Friday 9th January

Warriors of the Dystotheque – Atom Vibe

They Say: "Atom vibe is the story of girl, severed from her love, living in a disconnected post apocalyptic world". It started life in Derry in the studio of Jonny Mac where 90% of our tracks begin. Jonny had been influenced by Air and Portishead and laid down some beats and bass, then it went to NYC where Mike & Nick dropped some bass clarinet, slide guitar and keys on it before making its way to Toulon were Sean added his lo-fi sounds. Then it went back to Jonny who chopped the parts up. Sean passed it on to Melissa Graham in Nottingham who wrote the lyrics & recorded her amazing vocals, finally back to Sean for mixing. So it's been around the block as they say.."

We Say: Steven Rainey summed it up well on this week’s ATL - when we played this for the first time - saying “I just love this… It’s got that sort of smoky Noir, laid back, night club kind of feel in the classic sense – you think of detectives in Los Angeles and femme fatales.”
