The Flims– Echo Falls
Wednesday 4th May, 2016
They Say: “‘Echo Falls’ is the second song in our debut EP ‘Life Outside the Womb’. The track was the last to be written before recording the EP in late January. The song’s lyrics speak of war and religion and the effect it is having on our world. It questions faith and how humanity’s selfishness will inevitably lead to self-destruction.
It pretty much speaks for itself: 'Bite the bullet or lose your teeth' - a reflection on all those faced with the hard reality. The track itself has a strong message and it's something we feel everyone can, or at least should be able to relate to. It is fairly chilled out however vocally and lyrically there is a tone of anger and an overall hopelessness to it. We just hope that message comes across.
We have a range of influences including Nirvana, Arctic Monkeys, Bombay Bicycle Club, Mac DeMarco and many more. We can assure you the best is yet to come.”
We Say: “We do indie rock n’ roll very well in Northern Ireland, with a number of bands penning shuffling, jangling little gems. It’s remarkable that The Flims are three guys barely out of their teens - and that the band are less than one year old. It’s a hugely promising start.”
Since forming in early 2015, The Flims have been runners up in the IYMAs competition, and winners of the 'Clash of the New Breeds' through Volume Control in the Oh Yeah Centre. Their debut EP, 'Life Outside The Womb' is available as of 18th April, 2016.
