One of the very first performances of this year's Output Festival, Reevah provides the perfect start to the evening. The bohemian vibes of the beautiful Start Together Studios are made for Reevah's ethereal and dreamy sounds. Starting with a brand-new track ‘Older Now’ there has been a definite progression in Reevah’s song-writing capabilities.
She stands alone, accompanied only by her voice and the strum of a soft and gentle guitar it is Reevah’s striking vocal ability that stun the audience into silence. Her band step up for the second song 'Nights', and with the additional musicians in tow we are treated to a more evolved rendition of some of Reevah's most popular songs. The immersive sound created by Reevah's calming voice and her bands instrumentation have the audience completely still. Telling the audience about recording 'Wildflower’ in the very studio we are standing in, its a lovely anecdote to set up the very touching song which is understated yet filled with emotion.
The title track of her acclaimed debut EP ‘Hummingbird’ is as smooth as silk, with gliding guitars and gorgeous melodies. Brand new song ‘26’ contains contemplative lyrics musing about a life turned upside down. Ending where she first began, her set concludes with her debut release, 'Daydreamer’; a song that delivers a prevalent message about how we have become consumed by social media. The packed out audience are left reeling for more from a gorgeously intimate set.
