REWS – Death Yawn

Tuesday 5th January 2016

They Say: "This song is our second single and we are really uber excited about it! It is a song that was inspired by a trip that I had to Edinburgh where I was faced with a creepy person who followed me around the hostel and took photos of me while eating my breakfast in the morning (to name but a few situations). I was reading a book by Louis Nowra (Into that forest) and was inspired through the fantasy to maybe carry out what is known as a 'threat yawn' in order to scare this person away. Instead of doing that I wrote the song so that I could share the experience with people and empower people to know that it's okay to put up boundaries against those who are trying to invade them.

Collette also loves the story and loves to play this one live! She has had her fair share of interesting encounters too! We are really looking forward to inspiring everyone with a bit of fact and fiction rolled together! Huge thanks to all the music pledgers for the video and everyone who inspired this." Shauna

We Say: "We’ve known Shauna Tohill for quite a while of course, but her new moniker and teaming up with English drummer Collette Williams has given her work a neat, renewed focus. Seemingly entering a songwriting purple patch, Death Yawn has everything we loved about Silhouette - great vocals and a big hook for a start - but with the volume turned up a little."

Death Yawn is released on 19th February
