The ROE flies

Across The Line

ROE is featured in a new documentary ‘Rise Up: a life in words & music’ charting her early struggles from just 16, making the hard decision to drop out of school and enrol in a creating writing/music course, where she met her partner in crime, music producer Liam Craig, to performing in front of 15,000 people in the 02 Arena, London.

ROE said: “This documentary follows me over some of the biggest moments of my life to date. Sean Mullan managed to capture something magical from the highs and lows that I’ve gone through and I’ll be forever grateful to him for it. ‘Rise Up’ is a reminder that I’ve gone through all of this and become a stronger person for it.”

At just 20 years old, Roisin Donald aka ROE, has already mastered the art of being herself. For the past four years she has been evolving as an artist and a person, facing the challenges of being a working musician head on, and seemingly all with a camera in her face throughout.

What makes ROE stand out is her relatability, regardless of your age, she will definitely give you all the feels. She doesn’t just write songs for the sake of it, or release tracks here and there; each one is crafted, well produced and part of the bigger picture.

Recording from Liam’s home studio, Roisin went on to champion a fresh, independent female artistry in Ireland. ROE has played Glastonbury and many other festivals internationally, and you know, just casually spent her 20th birthday on stage with absolute legends, Snow Patrol. Not too shabby.
