This October 26th – 28th, acclaimed arts festival and TV series Other Voices comes to Belfast.

Showcasing new musical talent, on Saturday 28th October this event will feature sets from Grammy-shortlisted Trad outfit Beoga, Across The Line regular Jealous of the Birds, pop-rock duo Picture This, Donegal-based songwriter Rosie Carney and punk upstarts TOUTS. The show will be recorded by Other Voices for broadcast on both BBC and RTE television.

Born in Dingle sixteen years ago, the festival has since appeared in various guises at locations such as Texas, Berlin, New York and London, with Belfast the latest home to the iconic event.

Thursday 26th and Friday 27th October will see four events coming to the city as part of the Digital DNA Creative Quarter – these will have an emphasis on the power of community through music and technology. Expect workshops from creative industry speakers such as Catalyst Inc, Techies in Residence and Speed Motion.

Then on Saturday 28th October, ‘The Belfast Edge’ takes up residence in The Theatre at The Duncairn. Plus The Duncairn’s School Hall plays host to The Other Voices Stage.

Lord Mayor of Belfast Councillor Nuala McAllister said:

“As we prepare to submit our bid for European Capital of Culture 2023, the spotlight is being shone on the city’s thriving culture and arts scene, and I’m delighted that Belfast City Council is helping to bring Other Voices to Belfast for the first time. I hope it will be a precursor for more exciting events for the city.”

Other additions to the line-up will be announced in coming weeks, and tickets for The Other Voices Stage will be available through local media and online competitions, details of which will also be announced shortly.
