They Say: “This downbeat instrumental is quite a departure from my usual style under the ‘Krimson’ pseudonym. The change in thinking has allowed me to musically express myself more fully.
The entirety of the song was written and produced in a matter of hours, and the melody was inspired by the numbing cold and isolation of January days in the Irish countryside.
For the production I’ve been experimenting with a low-key bare bones approach, stripping away any embellishments to leave room for the main ideas, and spending as little time tweaking as possible. For example this song has a total of seven tracks, as opposed to the 30-35 I’d usually spend days obsessing over.
There’ll be a lot more coming during the year, including a recently recorded collaboration with the very talented singer/songwriter Nicki Meehan. Needless to say I’m very excited for what’s in store for 2016.”
We say: "When a piece of music becomes more than mere sounds - this is a presentation of an idea, a ‘piece’ in the true sense of the word. Intricate yet simple, fragile and extremely thoughtful, it’s built for reflection and a decent pair of headphones."
