Donning a lilac suit and gold telecaster, electronic one-piece LARKS soundtrack the evening’s beginnings to an initially small collection of attentive listeners. Commanding the stage with dark and brooding single-note guitar lines, Fiona O'Kane's lingering lead vocals intertwine with harmonies that reach an ethereal peak. By the first few bass heavy notes of 'Bodies', the Courtyard has busied. A new track that aches with longing; the repetitive chorus echoing through the venue in perfect timing with this burgeoning crowd

Well warmed by now, LARKS’ set becomes more punishing and determined, toying with quiet/heavy single note melodies on 'Ready For It', thick with electronic percussion and building, jangled guitar strums. Prefacing the end of the set, Fiona apologetically announces “I picked the worst song for the last one”, referring to the the rhythmic shouts of another band performing inside which threatens to disturb the peaceful but loaded atmosphere LARKS had curated. Still, the soft but resolute 'Tired Eyes' holds its own, captivating by its own merits rather than drowning out the competition.
