Here's Eimear Coyle to talk us through what makes this neon pop band tick....
****
The first record I ever bought was Girls Aloud's first single 'Sound Of The Underground' back in 2002. Big tune! Fun fact: Coincidentally this was Cheylene's first buy as well! We met Nadine Coyle recently and told her, she was delighted.
The last record I bought was for an epic hike I was heading on recently. I needed a soundtrack asap so to be safe so I got Takk... by Sigur Rós. Blink 182 made me want to be in a band! I skipped my work experience for sixth year to go to the concert and it turns out it was the best experience I could get for this job!!
The last gig Wonder Villains watched together was at the Start Together Singles Club Launch Party in the Limelight. We just about made it through because there was a snow storm and a power cut but I'm glad we did. The last album we listened to together was probably Rumours. We all discovered Fleetwood Mac quite recently and that's an unbelievable album! Obviously. We always bond over ABBA though. We dressed up as them for Hallowe'en a few years ago and it felt awesome. ABBA GOLD is possibly the best greatest hits of all time. Hit after hit! And great to dance to!! *sings* "Dancing Queen!"
We got to share a stage loads with General Fiasco last year and we all had an amazing time! I certainly didn't want it to end! I'm so glad we got to play with them so much before the split. We'd like Bruce Springsteen to join our band, if we had a choice. He's the best. The Boss on lead vocals. I'd be out of a job but it'd be worth it.
The first cover version we ever tried was actually at the ATL Headroom show years ago. We played 5ive's 'Keep On Moving'. The video's still online somewhere. Watch out! I look like Brian May in it. We went to see Good Vibrations last week, we were threatening to play an entire Good Vibes tribute set at our show the next day. We just about talked ourselves out of it!
As for a guilty pleasure, I'mma go for Ke$ha. Everyone knows the big hits but I've all her albums and there's some great tunes on there!
