We've complained a few times of late about the difficulty that is representing the varied sounds coming out of Northern Ireland at present without our playlist ending up....all over the place. Then we get over it, knowing the music is strong enough to carry us through, regardless of varying genre. It's a concept illustrated beautifully with Spectrum Festival, a one venue, two roomed event taking place tomorrow night at The Black Box, with eight bands sharing a bill - Pretty Child Backfire, Jason Clarke, Mojo Gogo and Runaway Go among them. The later have summed up the night's appeal in a quick and orderly fashion:
'Everybody should get themselves down to the Black Box tonight for the Spectrum Festival. There's a great line-up of really exciting local talent and it's indoors,so you won't even get wet. What's not to love?'
A fair point....
