
Foy Vance has won the first ever NI Music Prize for his sophomore album, Joy of Nothing. Fourteen albums were shortlisted for the award that aims to recognise, "the great wealth of recorded music from these parts".
The award ceremony took place last night at the Mandela Hall as part of Belfast Music Week. Foy was unable to attend having just wrapped up a North American tour, but his band picked up the award on his behalf.
Foy starts his UK & Ireland tour on Sunday, which see's him stop at Sandino's, Derry on the 8th of December and the Limelight, Belfast on the 9th of December. He will also play Dublin and Galway in December as part of this tour.
