Orby Chase - Derby Girl
Friday 27th May, 2016
They Say: “The song is about a girl from Derby Josh met in a club, who was lost and never found again. We came up with a few riffs in rehearsals one evening and everything just came alight. We were aiming it to have a real indie, funky, dirty vibe and drew on influences such as the Strokes rhythmically right through to John Frusciante for vocal harmonising in which you can feel with Matts backing vocals in the pre chorus to create a real after-midnight feel.
The band is a four piece that consists of Joshua Dodge (Lead vocals/Guitar) Jamie Wright (Backing vocals/Lead Guitar) Matt McQuillan (Bass/Vocals) and Phil Buchanan (Drums/percussion) We recorded with the talented Rocky O'Reilly at Start Together Studios."
We Say: “Coming out swinging, this is a really confident debut track from Orby Chase. Yearning, slightly gruff vocals are juxtaposed with a massive wall-of-sound chorus and catchy harmonies that’ll stay with you long after the song ends.”
Orby Chase's debut EP 'Wolf By The Ears' is set for release at their first live gig, on Friday 10th June in Belfast's Bar Sub.
