Music blogger Niall Byrne a.k.a. Nialler9 chatted down the line from Dublin with Rigsy on some of their favourite new tracks.
The Casanova Wave – New Sensation
Niall: “For me it’s a much improved version of his sound – less saccharin and less naïve… and I really like the vocals on this.”
Paper Man - Poetry
Rigsy: “The other two tracks on the EP arguably more radio friendly, more instant, but I’m a real sucker for… a male female duet…the rest of the EP definitely worth your attention.”
SlowPlaceLikeHome – She Comes in Colour Stereo
Niall: “A very close version of maybe David Holmes ‘I heard wonders’… Especially to make the leap from an EP to an album it’s nice to have a significant change in lots of ways and I think it really works for him here.”
I Heart The Monster Hero – Toni Bailey
Niall: “It’s real old school, indie, electro kind of fun record… I think it’s my favourite song from the album.”
Cloud Castle Lake – Sync
Niall: “You can hear there in the music…It’s very rich, it’s very detailed, there’s lots going on – it’s a sound of a band who have been working on new material and songs for quite a few years.”
Reid - Fractures
Niall: “Very much like this vibe throughout - kind of dark and cinematic, and also kind of reminds me of Gold Panda a lot.”
Viola Dust – You’re Mine
Rigsy: “So very promising… Absolutely loving this... This kind of slightly hip hop vibe… is just something that really appeals to me”
