Foreign Owl – Like A Beast
Tuesday 14th March, 2017
They say: “Like A Beast was first written by Foreign Owl and later produced by Rory Moore from the local band, Strength NIA.
Originally this song was a lot slower with mid-tempo groove but during the process of recording, Rory manually sped up the drum track and completely changed the feel of the song in a way that we, as a band, could have never have imagined. This significantly contributed to making what ‘Like A Beast’ is today.
It was then released as Foreign Owl's debut single. ‘Like A Beast’ immediately caught people's attention with its upbeat melody and catchy chorus; the song has also been described as colourful with a lot of personality.”
We say: “Lyrically fantastic, ‘Like A Beast’ is a rollercoaster ride through musical expression with it’s brisk bassline and nervous tension at every twist and turn.
Even though it’s such a short song ‘Like A Beast’ is creatively pulling out all the stops, with plenty of changes in mood and style.
It’s a very impressive debut from the Burt based three piece and a welcome addition to the Irish music scene.”
‘Like A Beast’ is Foreign Owl’s debut release and is available to stream and download for free here.
