Tonight, Glenn Rosborough [ex Intermission and Kharma 45 frontman] makes his debut solo performance, playing under his own name and giving a preview session of his new album.

The gig, hosted by Jammhouse, is taking place at The Sandwich Co, in the heart of Londonderry. An unlikely place to expect a music gig, but it surprisingly works, creating an intimate atmosphere.

14 year old Dungiven singer Cahir McLaughlin opens the evening with an impressive set. The crowd embrace his first track ‘Rhythm’ enthusiastically, setting the tone for the night. Cahir’s original 6 song set, shows confidence and maturity in his performance. His style of rocky pop along with his strong voice and acoustic guitar skills is a definite crowd pleaser. With a performance at Glasgowbury already under his belt, this young musician is definitely one to watch.

Next up is Derry musician Connor McGowan known as Ego the Jackal. He opens his set with ‘Living on Apathy Street’. He gives a passionate performance with a gentle yet strong, clear voice. He belts out his own original alt-folk style songs interjected with a Kings of Leon Cover. There’s a touch of uniqueness about his performance, playing the harmonica along with acoustic guitar, one man band style.

Tonight's headliner Glenn Rosborough finally takes to the stage accompanied with his band for a set filled with songs from his upcoming album. Glenn sings lead vocals whilst playing piano to an upbeat soulful rock song called, ‘Begin Again’, backed by his long time band mates from Intermission and Wyldling,. Glenn passionately performs, showcasing a new mature style to his creativity, with depth in his lyrics. The entire audience falls silent when Glenn stuns us with a change of tempo with 'One By One', which is powerfully emotive and showing his impressive vocal range. He combines gentle raw vocals with high pitched harmonies that work perfectly. Following this stripped back, powerful performance, the audience respond enthusiastically to the upbeat songs that follow. The location is not the place to dance, but Glenn and the bands energy puts you in the mood for wanting more.
