Yusin - Ambush featuring Abbi Press

They Say: “Yusin is a production duo - Jamie Chambers and Sean Kyle from Derry. We've been friends since we were 14 and both moved to Leeds to study at Leeds College of Music. We studied film and television music and then music production and music technology. We aimed to fuse elements of cinematic composition with electronic pop, inspired by many of our influences - Radiohead, Sigur Ros, James Blake, Sleep Party People - just to name a few. This is when Yusin began. Having little success finding the right singers in Leeds, we turned to Soundcloud, which was where we really kicked off musically. We spent a year doing remixes and collaborations with artists including Le Cassette, Tree, Daughter and Abbi Press. Jamie also spent his free time recording and producing for other artists as well and did some work on the new Rainy Boy Sleep Album.

In 2014 Abbi Press started a Kickstarter fund to tour throughout Europe, to meet each producer she had had worked with via the internet. This trip included a visit to Leeds to meet us and perform a gig. We decided it was the perfect opportunity to write another song with Abbi – ‘Ambush’ and shoot a music video in the few days she was in Leeds. We were happy with the song, but figured why not push it even further, so we had it mixed professionally by Brian Batz from Sleep Party People. They're a huge influence on our music, so it was really exciting to have him involved with the song.

We released the track in January 2015 through our own record label - Bunny Wolf Records. We're currently on the lookout for new artists and singers to collaborate with. If anyone is interested, they can get in touch with us via the Bunny Wolf Soundcloud.”

We Say: “Derry lads relocated to Leeds with a Brooklyn vocalist. Are you keeping up? The background is a little fuzzy, but the song is glorious. Deep, dark and a little trippy. A joyous doom.”
