Best Boy Grip - Sugar
They Say – “'Sugar' is a collaboration with Sky Sports pundit Guillem Balague. We've been writing an EP together over the last year as a project. The lyrics and sample of Guillem's voice, were taken from an answer phone message he left me when he had inspiration during an Arsenal game he was working at. I loved the crowd noise in the background and knew I had to sample the actual voice (he was giving me pronunciation help). Sugar is a dark track about pushing yourself to the edge. ”
We Say – “For a while it felt his music would become SO poppy it'd be beyond Across the Line. Which is far from a criticism by the way - it just means there'd be a better fit elsewhere. But then....BOOM! His wonkiest, weirdest and most adventurous release to date. Back in the (freak) zone!”
Best Boy Grip will be playing Grand Central, Derry~Londonderry on Thursday 25th Sept.
