Brian Coney reports back from Le Galaxie at the Out to Lunch festival, Belfast:
If there's one festival performance from 2013 that I properly regretted missing it was Dublin's Le Galaxie bringing Electric Picnic 2013 to a close. The reports from those who "were there, man" verged on the mythical, the band delivering a breakneck dance explosion apparently witnessed by every soul left standing at the annual Stradbally festival.
Whilst probably not liable to be quite as legendary, I grabbed the chance to nip along to the quartet's recent Belfast show at the Black Box as part of Out to Lunch for this week's ATL gig report. The vox-pops at the end sum it all up, really: kaleidoscopic electro-disco multiplied by breathless and boundlessly energetic beat-infused awesomeness.
