Polytekk - You’re In My Head (Oneknown Remix)

Polytekk Says: What originally inspired me to write ‘You're in my head’ were personal events that took place, prior to writing the track. I wanted to pour all that emotion that I was feeling at the time into a track but still keep it relevant to the EP’s style. I'm by no means a clever wordsmith at all, so I asked Frances Mitchell what she thought. After much back and forth producing through Skype, together we found the right mixture of sounds and basically turned a somewhat emotional problem into an upbeat track. We both felt that the lyrics needed to be relatable to someone, so it was from there, that Frances cleverly disguised the issues. The whole EP is very personal to me but this track more than the rest.

After chatting briefly with Chris Hanna following the release of my recent EP ‘Mid Atlantic’ Featuring Frances Mitchell, he mentioned he really enjoyed the track entitled ‘You're in my head’. Chris's sound was a big influence on me, writing tracks through the UNKNWN guise, and I was hooked to the sound. So, being a huge fan of his work, I couldn't help myself saying yes when he asked to remix the track and furthermore give it some playouts at gigs.

Oneknown Says: "I really liked Barry's original and played it loads, I wanted to play it out but I felt for DJ-ing it needed to be a tad heavier to fit in with stuff I play, so I asked if I could do the remix and this came out."

We Say: “A remix from Chris Hannah - currently working under the moniker OneKnown (formerly one half of UNKNWN) and a Belfast producer called Polytekk who we’ve featured a great deal – is thankfully, more than the sum of its parts. This track is more a DJ touch up than anything, it’s big and beefy, yet remains wonderfully trippy and hypnotic.”
