Villagers nominated for the Mercury Prize

Villagers have made the shortlist for the 2013 Album of the Year Mercury Prize with their sophomore album, Awayland

The indie folk troupe lead by Conor O'Brien were also nominated back in 2010 for their debut, Becoming a Jackal.

The Mercury Prize Award Show will take place on the 30th of October at the Roundhouse in London, where one of the twelve shortlisted will win the accolade.

The nominations are:

Jake Bugg - Jake Bugg

Laura Mvula - Sing To The Moon

Villagers - Awayland

David Bowie - The Next Day

Savages - Silence Yourself

Disclosure - Settle

Laura Marling - Once I Was An Eagle

Arctic Monkeys - AM

James Blake - Overgrown
