That New Band Smell - Fox Jaw Bounty Hunters

Across The Line

So it's Carrie Davenport back again, with my first 'That New Band Smell' of 2013. We have some great tunes to beat your January blues and help you forget those undoubtedly broken new years resolutions - dont feel bad though, instead of upholding grim new diets and gym plans, try new music! You'll certainly enjoy it far more...

Proxist - Grave Digger

It's thanks to the BBC uploader that we discovered these guys, so new bands take note! Heavy riffs and vocals influenced by Pantera (RIP Dimebag), these guys pedal fresh new metal from Derry.Their debut EP, 'SYST3M FA1LURE' is up online at proxist.bandcamp.com.

Ghosts - WLVS

The first release of 2013 for Belfast based label Champion Sound Music, this Dublin based duo produce beatifully ambient electronic music. A haunting soundtrack with a sombre minimalist feel, think Burial but even more chilled out. Their new EP 'WLVS' is due for release digitally at the end of the month and on vinyl at the start of Feburary.

Fow Jaw Bounty Hunters - Driving Blind

Gloomy guitar twangs and bluesy swagger are the key to this band's abundance of charm. This Limerick based three piece will appeal to fans of the likes of Jace Everett (penman of that saucy theme tune from True blood). Their debut album The Devil In Music is available now and you can listen to it on foxjawbountyhunters.com.

Blog comments will be available here in future. Find out more.
