Go Swim 'Off the Trail'
They say – “'Off the Trail' was written and recorded in our drummer Stefan's attic studio. We wanted to try and get across our live energy into the studio tracks as much as possible. Our aim was to create that punchy punky girl/boy vocal which we have become known for, over a real catchy memorable riff then completely turn it on it's head with an almost sweet soulful breakdown. The song itself is influenced by our everyday, sometimes mundane lives and is about picking yourself up, staying positive and getting on with it when something knocks you down. As it developed it seemed to speed up more and more and rather than this being a deliberate act on our part, it was more down to the fact that we were playing it as quick as possible in order to escape the human inferno that is Stef's attic!”
We Say – “It's been faintly annoying just how consistent Go Swim have been the last few months - their combining quantity and quality has given us a few playlist issues. Can you stop being so good lads, and give other bands a chance?! Here's another absolute belter from the superb 'Animal' EP, a frantic guitar workout that recalls Bloc Party at their peak.”
