Niamh Hegarty joined Rigsy and Stu to discuss some of their favourite new releases including:

Cave Ghosts - Come Into My World

Niamh:You might remember this as a Kylie Minogue track.I just think this is a gorgeous cover and it’s just made by its beautiful harmonies. “

Terriers - Clean My Bones

Niamh:They’re a four piece instrumental band based in Cork. This is one of the few tracks they have which actually has vocals on it. I just think this is a great tune.”

Skelocrats - Zirconium Heart

Stuart:The Skelocrats just get into the meat of the song, they deliver, they hit the chorus high and fast. A bit it of humour in there, and they remind me of things like Ariel Pink - a wee bit of Arcade Fire maybe in that chorus line.”

All Tvvins - Thank you

Niamh:The sky just really is the limit at the moment for All Tvvins. Aside from it being really upbeat and having kind of, almost LCD Soundsystem beats, it’s a really emotive tune.”

Rigsy:“Already All Tvvins seem to have made a splash outside of their own backyard.”

Stuart: “I think this is going to be one of the big soundtrack tunes of the year. Every time you hear it, it just lifts you a little bit…it’s subtly great.“

Lantern for a Gale – Perfect Things

Niamh:It’s my favourite track on… their debut album. Apparently they recorded this themselves which is quite hard to fathom as it sounds so professional. I just think it’s an incredible album and an incredible achievement.”

Neon Drive – Hunted

Rigsy: “Very strong stuff.”

Stuart:It’s someone who’s thought about it or instinctively just listened to loads of great records and has a way of presenting themselves to the world. Definite promise I would say.”

Vann Music – Boy

Niamh: “This is just a wonderful track, and they’re a band best experienced live.”

Rigsy: “Just really, really epic vibes across this. It’s impressive stuff.”
