The current editorial staff have been keeping a continuing online presence since the demise of the physical magazine a year ago.
This morning, on the Au Facebook page, at the end of a post, a message read.. 'Whatever you get up, be safe and have fun. This has been the final AU post (minus an announcement on Sunday). Thanks for having us - onwards and upwards!'
AU started out life as a radio show on Belfast community station Northern Visions back in March 2002 as well as a website. The magazine version launched in June 2003 and ran for 81 issues up until March 2012 when it faced significant financial difficulties and has since been online only.
ATL understands that current editorial team are in the process of launching a new Irish music based website, and also that the existing AU content will remain online for the foreseeable future.
Plans are also afoot to create an online archive of the monthly magazine's issues.
