The musicians selected are Hurdles, Matthew Duly, Hot Cops, Serotoninand R51.
These five will now be able to take advantage of opportunities including time in a recording studio, a professional photo shoot, vocal coaching and meeting with industry professionals.
In the programme’s previous two years, only four acts were chosen, but it has been increased to five this time round in recognition of the standard being so high and ‘the bands so inspiring’.
Previous winners of ‘Scratch My Progress’ include some names familiar to ATL listeners, such as singer/songwriter Katharine Philippa, Banbridge four-piece 20 Second Century, Go Wolf and more.
The programme is supported by The Arts Council of Northern Ireland, the PRS for Music Foundation and Invest Northern Ireland.
