Vorlis - Throttle

They Say: I was listening to a lot of Surgeon, AnD and Ø [phase] at the time I made ‘Throttle.’ I found that they had a raw honesty about their sound, that I wanted to capture within my own work, and that’s how the Vorlis solo project came about. I use two Elektron machines to write and preform my tracks, the Machinedrum and Analog Four. It’s usually just a basic 1-2 bar pattern that I try and push as far as they can possibly go with the mutes, filters, pattern length and smashing keys etc…All run through an old rusty amp! They are all single takes, mistakes and no going back! The summer is shaping up to be a fun one with a few gigs booked at Field Sessions and Alien Vibrations and an EP to be launched…good times ahead!

We Say: Dark and itchy techno for the back room of a smoky discoteque, this is just one of a selection of outstanding productions on the Vorlis Soundcloud. Relentless and strangely mysterious, just like the man himself.
