Good day to you, keen explorers of sound. It's Phily Taggart here, armed with a bodacious bunch of bands for your consideration this week. Ok, so enough with the pleasantries, we all know what we have to do, get down and intimate with the green horns. Welcome to 'That New Band Smell'.

Conor Brown - On Thin Ice
Having been classically trained and a penchant for Swedish electro pop, the question is, how are you going to not listen to 18 year old songwriter Conor Brown?
The New Wave - Bag of Hammers
The Burnt Reynolds are back and with a face lift, well more of a face melt. These thundering riffs and projectile rhythms is most definitely of the post hardcore variety, the variety that feels like F**ked Up's lead singer pirouetting on your temple.
Distracter - The Contortionist
Distracter are such a beautiful find. The name was murmured by contributors to ATL, 'so hot right now' we would hear, more seriously told they were at 'the beginning of something special' or so this particular ATL-ite was informed. So obviously when they touched down with recorded material we were all over it like Bruce Boggtrotter on a big creamy chocolate cake. It pays a knowing nod to the 90's other worldliness alt-rock of Radiohead but offers up enough for it not to be a pastiche. They launch their 'Clear' EP on Monday 15th July and have two tracks available for download from their bandcamp. Get feasting!!!

If you or anyone you know is making music then you know what you have to do, upload it to the BBC Introducing Uploader. It doesn't matter what style or genre the song is, as long as it's good and you believe in it.
