Thousands of runners and cyclists took part in the Wolverhampton City Marathon. Almost tropical weather saw West Park bathed in sunshine, but provided difficult conditions for competitiors.

The cycle
race was the first to start, with the Marathon, Half Marathon and relay races beginning shortly afterwards.

Racers began in West Park - completing a circuit of the city (two for the full Marathon) and surrounding area, before returning to the park for the finish
