Classroom Ideas
This clip could be used to highlight the main food groups needed by humans in a balanced, healthy diet and why they are important.
Students could keep a food diary for the week and sort what they eat into the different food groups.
Alternatively, students could be asked to plan a well balanced meal. They could cut out two circles as plates –a main course plate and a pudding plate. Choosing from a range of different cut out images of food, the students could stick them onto their plates to illustrate a well balanced meal.
The clip could also be used to stimulate discussions about the need for exercise and the impact that diet, exercise, drugs and lifestyle can have on our bodies.
