*Oisin and Alice are kicking a ball to each other in the park. *
NARRATOR: Hello you two! Are you enjoying this beautiful sunny day?
OISIN: Yeah, and I’m winning 2-1!
*As Oisin speaks, Alice kicks the ball to him and he misses it. *
ALICE: Not anymore!
NARRATOR: Today we’re going to learn about respect for the environment in Christianity.
OISIN: What’s the environment?
NARRATOR: The environment is the world we live in, with all its people, plants and animals.
ALICE: Like the park? I love the park!
NARRATOR: Yes Alice! People have lots of different ideas about how the world was made. Some people believe it started with a massive explosion called the ‘big bang’. Some Christians believe that God made the world in seven days.
OISIN: Wow! That’s fast!
NARRATOR: Christians believe that humans are in charge of looking after the Earth. That means they should be kind to other humans and animals, and do their best to protect the world from harm.
*As the narrator talks, the kids walk to retrieve the ball. They find it beside some rubbish by a bin. *
ALICE: Look at all this rubbish! Some messy folks must have left this here.
OISIN: Hmmm, maybe we can put it in the bin?
NARRATOR: Great idea Oisin, just hold on a second …
Litter pickers pop into the kids’ hands. They are surprised!
NARRATOR: There you go, now you can help keep the park tidy!
*The kids put the litter in the bin. *
NARRATOR: There are lots of ways you can look after the environment. Whether it’s picking up rubbish, cycling instead of taking the car, or turning off the tap when you’re brushing your teeth - we can all do our part to respect the world we live in.

Small changes make a big difference
We are in charge of looking after the Earth.
It is important that we protect our world from harm.
We can do this by making small changes, such as putting rubbish in the bin and not wasting water.
If we all make small changes it will make a big difference!

Now we know how important it is to care for the Earth, why not have a look at the importance of respecting all the religions in the world?
