How to convert fractions into percentages

Fractions can be converted into percentages.

In fact, percentages are fractions that are over 100.

When writing percentages the per cent symbol (%) is used.

Things can be described as percentages even if they don’t have 100 parts.

Making fractions over 100

Percentages are the same as fractions that are over 100.

Since not all fractions are over 100, you need to convert the fractions into ones that are.

You do this by multiplying the numerator and the denominator by the same number.

You then just take the numerator and add the per cent sign.

23/25 = 92/100 = 92% over and under the first = symbol are arrows with × above the arrows.
