Exploring Colombia with Luciana
Hi my name is Luciana and I live in Colombia - Vivo en Colombia.
I live near the capital city Bogota, in the countryside - en el campo - with my family, my mum, my brother, my dad and my dogs.
In the morning, I love to eat a traditional Colombian breakfast - desayuno - which includes; pan de yuca, arepas, eggs - huevos - and a variety of fruits.
I love feijoa, I pick it from my garden - mi jardín.
We collect the rain water - la lluvia from the house to create this swamp and it attracts animals.
Here in Colombia we have lots of tropical fruits.
In our garden we grow apples - manzanas - lemons - limones - lulu and feijoas, which were the ones we ate at breakfast.
I like to visit small towns outside Bogota like Tabio.
In most small towns in Colombia there is a central square, a church and government buildings which are influenced from Spain.
My favourite thing to do when I come to Tabio is to visit the many handicraft shops to look at what they are selling and to find inspiration for my own art which I make at home.
One thing that I love doing is making model houses from recycled materials.
For example, the books I made them with paper.
I think recycling - reciclaje - is important because there is already too much rubbish in the world.
My other hobby is I love to dance - bailar - this is a very popular past time in Colombia.
There are many traditional dances in Colombia such as Cumbia, Bambuco and Champeta.
Cumbia brings together African, Spanish and Native instruments and rhythms, showing how diverse Colombian culture is.
This is why Colombia is so special.
We may speak Spanish but we are Colombians - ¡Somos Colombianos!

Exploring Tabio
Tabio is a small town outside Bogotá, the capital of Colombia that Luciana likes to visit.
Just like many small towns across Spain and South America, there is normally a church, a central square with restaurants and shops and government buildings.
Luciana likes visiting the craft shops, where traditional Colombian crafts are sold.
She enjoys looking at the crafts to get ideas about what to make at home.
Hobbies
As well as visiting the local towns and creating art, Luciana also likes to practise her dancing.
Traditional Colombian dancing is very popular and part of the culture.
Colombian dancing is normally performed in brightly coloured costumes and involves lots of percussion.
