An animated movie trailer about a man’s long and difficult escape to safety during World War Two. He’s advised to flee to Zürich and the nearby mountains in neutral Switzerland, and learns about what the area has to offer. He’s given specific directions of how to get to his final destination, along with instructions of which mode of transport to use. However, on arrival in Zürich, he soon wonders if anywhere is really safe.

Provide pupils with a selection of sentence starters and ask them to complete them, either independently or with a selection of phrases to choose from. As a research project, ask pupils to find information about a town or city in a Germany-speaking country and produce a class presentation using the structures from the film. This is an ideal opportunity for peer assessment.
