Other prepositions describing position
There are many other useful prepositions that describe where something is situated.
These are some of the most commonly used in French:

These prepositions don’t require you to change the article before or after them. For example:
- j’ai logé dans un appartement devant la cathédrale - I stayed in an apartment in front of the cathedral
- le café se trouve entre l’office de tourisme et la poste - the café is between the Tourist Information office and the post office
- il est rentré chez moi avant d’aller chez Antoine - he came back to my house before he went to Antoine’s house
