Inequality symbols

can be used to show which number is greater. For example, \(-2 \textless -1\) means -2 is less than -1. The wider part of the inequality sign faces the larger number.

\(-1 \textgreater -2\) means -1 is greater than -2 because -1 is further to the right of -2 on the number line.
