Venn diagrams that do not overlap

Sometimes the sets do not have any common elements.

Example

Leah and Kelly are sisters who do not have any interests in common. Leah likes to read, draw and play netball whereas Kelly prefers to listen to music, dance and skate. If we were to draw this as a Venn diagram, we would need to draw separate circles.

A Venn diagram with two sets labelled Leah and Kelly. The sets do not overlap

Question

A Venn diagram with two sets labelled Set A and Set B. Set A contains 8 numbers and Set B contains 9 numbers. The two sets overlap in the middle to form a subset containing 4 numbers

List the items in Set A and Set B.

Question

List the Intersection and union of the following Venn diagram.

A Venn diagram with two sets labelled Set A and Set B. Set A contains 8 numbers and Set B contains 9 numbers. The two sets overlap in the middle to form a subset containing 4 numbers
