Plans and elevations
Plans and elevations are 2D drawings of a 3D shape.
A plan is a A diagram drawn where each length represents an exact magnitude in direct proportion. Eg, a scale of 1:10 in a diagram means that 1 cm will represent a force of 10 N. showing a 3D shape when it is looked at from above.
An elevation is the view of a 3D shape when it is looked at from the side or from the front.
When an architect designs a building they will draw the plans and elevation of a building.
