Here are some useful phrases to describe a variety of school rules.
| Siúil go mall. | Walk slowly. |
| Níl cead rith sa halla mór. | You are not allowed to run in the hall. |
| Níl cead bia a ithe sa seomra ranga. | You are not allowed to eat food in the classrooms. |
| Caithfidh tú éisteacht leis an mhúinteoir. | You must listen to the teacher. |
| Caithfidh tú obair / staidéar a dhéanamh. | You must do work / study. |
| Caithfidh tú bheith ar scoil ar a naoi a chlog. | You must be in school at nine o’clock. |
