Reading practice - descriptions of houses - Foundation
Beyond descriptions of where people live in Spain, you may also come across more imaginative descriptions of houses and dwellings in literary texts.
Read this extract from a novel.
Caminaba por el bosque cuando vi una hermosa casa rosa, con un jardín lleno de flores. Llamé a la puerta de la casa tres veces y finalmente fue abierta muy lentamente por una mujer anciana. "No salgo nunca de esta casa" - me dijo la mujer - "porque prefiero quedarme aquí mirando las fotos del pasado." Ella me invitó a entrar y nos sentamos en sillones verdes en el salón pequeño donde había miles de fotos en todas las paredes.
