Meiosis
There are two types of cell division called A type of cell division which produces daughter cells identical to the parent. and Reduction division in a cell in which the chromosome number is halved from diploid to haploid.. Mitosis produces identical A cell that contains two sets of chromosomes. body cells for growth and repair. Meiosis produces A sex cell (gamete) that contains one set of chromosomes. non-identical sex cells, or Sex cell (sperm in males and ova/eggs in females).. These fuse to form a diploid fertilised egg cell during fertilisation.
Meiosis produces sperm and egg cells in animals, and Male sex cell (gamete) from flowering plants. and egg cells in plants.
