Speaking practice - Foundation
When describing a photo, the first thing to do is say what you can see. Try to think about some things that you could mention, eg who is in the photo, what they are doing, where they are and what other things can you see.
Here are some useful phrases to help describe a photo.

- En la foto se puede ver una calle con tres casas. También hay cinco coches. A la izquierda hay unos árboles. Hace buen tiempo. Veo a una familia con niños pequeños y un grupo de adultos que están hablando.
- A mí me gusta mucho vivir aquí. ¿Qué opinas tú?
- Me gusta mucho vivir aquí también porque todos mis amigos viven bastante cerca de mi casa. Además, hay muchas cosas que hacer para los jóvenes.
- ¿Qué hiciste recientemente en tu barrio?
- Fui al cine con mis amigos y también fuimos de compras al nuevo centro comercial. Tuvimos que coger el autobús porque estaba bastante lejos. Lo pasamos bien.
- ¿Prefieres el campo o la ciudad?
- En mi opinión, es bastante aburrido vivir en el campo porque no hay mucho que hacer para los jóvenes. Personalmente prefiero la ciudad porque no hay mucho para los jóvenes en el campo.
- ¿Qué ciudad te gustaría visitar en el futuro?
- Me gustaría ir a Barcelona porque me interesa mucho la arquitectura. Creo que es una ciudad fascinante y hay muchos sitios de interés.

- I really like living here too because all my friends live quite near to my house. What's more, there are lots of things for young people to do.
- What did you do recently in your area?
- I went to the cinema with my friends and also, we went shopping in the new shopping centre. We had to catch the bus because it was quite far away. We had a good time.
- Do you prefer the country or the city?
- In my opinion, it's quite boring living in the country because it's too quiet. Personally, I prefer the city because there is not much for young people in the country.
- Which city would yo would to visit in the future?
- I would like to go to Barcelona because I'm really interested in the architecture. I think it's a fascinating city and there are lots of places of interest.
